UE Merit Based Scholarships for Physical Therapy Students

Financial Assistance Incoming Freshmen

Students in both the 3+3 and the 4+3 models will receive their UE merit-based scholarships throughout undergraduate and graduate studies as long as the required grade point average is maintained with the following stipulations:

1.       Students will receive their UE merit scholarship for either 12 semesters (3+3 model) or 14 semesters (4+3 model).  Awards remain fixed at their fourth year value during the remainder of the program.

2.       For fall 2008 and after, the UE housing requirement will be in effect during the first four years of either the 3+3 program or the 4+3 program.

Students will be considered undergraduates the first year of the DPT program, but graduate students in years two and three.

For more information, call the Office of Financial Aid at 812-488-2364 or 800-488-8634.  To apply for aid, students should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Assistance (FAFSA).

Financial Assistance Transfer Students

Transfer students attending the University of Evansville (UE) for the professional Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program will be considered undergraduates for the first year of the program, but graduate students in years two and three.

Such students will be considered for a UE academic scholarship worth up to $6,500 per year when they enroll in the program.  In the last two years (when the students are considered graduate students), they may borrow at the graduate level in the Federal Stafford Loan and Grad PLUS Loan programs.

Since federal regulation allows for graduate students to receive Federal Perkins Loans and to work in the Federal Work-study programs, these funds will also be available for students according to availability of funds and the students’ eligibility according to the FAFSA.

Transfer students who enter the University during the pre-professional part of the program must satisfy the Department of Physical Therapy’s requirements to be admitted.  They will be considered undergraduates at that time.  If accepted into the DPT Program, these students will be considered undergraduates their first year in the program with eligibility for student loans at that level.

For more information, call the Office of Financial Aid at 812-488-2364 or 800-488-8634.  To apply for aid, students should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Assistance (FAFSA).
